New Year's Eve 1989

A THROWBACK

On New Year’s Eve 1989, just weeks after the Berlin Wall began to fall, David Hasselhoff climbed onto a crane above the crowds and belted out Looking for Freedom.

Dressed in a piano-key scarf and flashing jacket, “The Hoff” sang to hundreds of thousands of Berliners gathered in celebration and disbelief at a divided city finally coming together.

For many Germans, that moment is still iconic – not just because of the sheer spectacle, but because it captured the hope, relief and joy of a generation. It symbolises freedom, unity, and the simple power of music to bring people together in times of massive change.

So, in true Tallboy & Moose style, we’ve brewed 'The Hoff', our Berliner Weisse - a nod to one unforgettable night when beer, music and freedom would’ve all tasted pretty sweet.
