SUMMER FRIGHTENING
BRITISH GOLDEN ALE, 5%

ABOUT THE BEER
We’ve gone all-in on tradition, using 100% English hops (East Kent Golding, First Gold) and top-quality Victorian malt. And to keep things truly authentic, we’ll have some kegs pouring on handpump at the brewpub for that proper British-pub-experience.
WHAT's A BRITISH GOLDEN ALE?
A British Golden Ale is a beautifully balanced beer style that emerged in the 1980s as a refreshing alternative to traditional bitters. It’s known for its light golden hue, crisp malt backbone, and a delicate yet complex hop profile.
Unlike the more hop-forward modern pale ales, British Golden Ales focus on subtle herbal, floral, and citrus notes, creating a smooth and highly drinkable beer with a refined bitterness. It’s the perfect choice for those who appreciate a classic, easy-going ale with layers of flavour to explore.

A word on the hops
East Kent Golding
East Kent Golding (EKG) hops are the backbone of traditional British brewing and bring a refined, quintessentially English character to Summer Frightening.
First cultivated in the late 18th century, EKG is known for its smooth, floral, and slightly spicy aroma with hints of honey and thyme. It provides a gentle bitterness that balances the malt without overpowering the delicate flavours.
