SERPENDIPITY
ABOUT THE BEER
To round off the Merri Masher's annual IPA competition, we got to re-brew this year's winning beer with the help of homebrewer Zac Walsh - a Texan IPA with Yuzu. What makes up this Royal Flush? A robust malt-profile, an all-American hop combo of Simcoe, Amarillo, and Centennial, and a zippy addition of Yuzu.
About the
MERRI MASHERS
The Merri Mashers are a passionate group of (mostly) amateur brewers. They enjoy discussing, creating, and tasting beer together. Members come from various backgrounds and brew with different skill levels and budgets. The club hosts monthly meetings to share their brews, organises homebrew competitions, invites professional brewers for talks, shares brewing equipment and embarks on brewery tours.
What is a texan IPA?
A Texan IPA is a nod to the classic Texas Brown Ale, which is known for its rich malt character balanced by a hefty hop presence. This style bridges the gap between a traditional American IPA and a Brown Ale, offering a unique combination of maltiness and hop bitterness. Serpendipity takes this concept further by incorporating the bright and citrusy notes of Yuzu, creating a refreshing and flavourful experience.
ABOUT THE
BREWER
Zac Walsh, the talented homebrewer who won the IPA Competition with his Texan IPA, joined us at the brewpub to bring this beer to life. Serpendipity is a rebrew of Zac's winning creation, and we couldn't be prouder to share it with you.
